Diarrhea is, in very basic terms, “loose stool.” It can happen as a side effect of chemotherapy, radiation, and targeted therapies. It may also be a result of medications meant to relieve constipation. It can lead to outcomes similar to nausea and vomiting, including dehydration.
Practical tips to prevent and manage diarrhea:
Contact your doctor immediately if you your diarrhea is accompanied by severe cramping or pain, fever, dizziness, blood in the stools, or dark urine.
