LCA-NY Inaugural
November 10, 2009--The Inaugural Shine a Light on Lung Cancer in Albany was a huge success! Over 80 members of the community joined LCA-NY for an evening of inspiration and information. Emceed by Tracy Egan (Former WTEN News Anchor), the Shine a Light evening included speeches from Congressman Paul Tonko (D-NY, 1st), Dr. Louis DeCunzo (Glens Falls Hospital), Laurie Fenton Ambrose (LCA President & CEO) and LCA-NY Co-chairs Phyllis Goldstein and Holly Michaelson.
The highlight of the evening was the moving tribute to the family and friends battling lung cancer and those who we have lost to the disease. The slide show featured the names and pictures of many different New Yorkers touched by the disease. While the pictures appeared, Rob Schiffmann of The Hillary Step performed the song written especially for the evening's events, "Anyway That We Can." Download song for free! (mp3)
The night ended with on a high note with guests informed and motivated to get more involved in raising awareness for lung cancer!
We look forward to seeing everyone again for the 2nd Annual Shine a Light on Lung Cancer on November 4, 2010!
