LCA-NY Advocates Attend Local Health Fairs

LCA-NY Chair Phyllis Goldstein attended the Chinese Community Health Fair on March 6, 2010.  The event, which was held in Latham, NY at the Chinese Community Center, was attended by approximately 400 people.  Phyllis distributed materials about lung cancer risk and support services to those in attendance.  She also spent time with local medical professionals and educated them on the services that LCA provides.

Phyllis represented Lung Cancer Alliance-NY again on April 21, 2010 at the Health Fair held by the University at Albany’s Employee Assistance Program.  The Health Fair aimed to provide information about wellness and community resources.  It was well attended, and several people picked up literature and signed the LCA petition to ask Congress to make lung cancer a national public health priority.

LCA-NY advocates will continue to attend health fair in the Capitol Region in order to educate the community as well as encourage others to get involved in raising awareness for the disease.
