LCA-NY Special Features:

Lung Cancer Alliance-New York took part in Freihofer’s 22nd Annual Community Walk on June 5, 2010 in Albany, NY.  The 23-member “Team Lung Love” team won 3rd place in overall fundraising with an estimated $2,715.  Donations are still being accepted for a month after the event. 

Money raised sustains LCA's free patient support services as well as our awareness and advocacy programs, with the goal of leveraging multiple millions of public health dollars for lung cancer research. 

The event was a great success as the team not only raised money, but brought together a group of people truly dedicated to lung cancer awareness and research. 

 Freihofer’s Community Walk is an annual event that helps not-for profit organizations raise money.  Each organization forms a team and seeks donations for its cause.  This year, Team Lung Love Albany joined approximately 850 other participants for the two mile walk.  Inspirational music was heard throughout the walk and a complimentary box of Freihofer’s cookies was given to each participant.   

A special thanks goes out to all Team Lung Love Albany ’s participants and donors.  The team’s participation and our eye-catching t-shirts was a great way to spread the word about LCA-NY and support the lung cancer community!  We will build on this momentum as we prepare for the 2nd Annual Shine a Light on Lung Cancer Vigil on November 4, 2010.
