* - Correction to December 2006 New Directions newsletter. Please note the following:
Page 3 of the New Directions newsletter incorrectly indicated Avastin for non-small cell lung cancer was approved for "Second or Third Line" Treatment and in the first of two references to the clinical trial that led to this approval, misstated the trial's number. The correct information is:
1. Avastin is specifically approved for first-line, non-squamous, non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) in combination with platinum based chemotherapy for people who have unresectable, locally advanced, recurrent or metastatic NSCLC. First-line (in this case) refers previous chemotherapy treatment for lung cancer.
2. The pivotal clinical trials that led to FDA approving Avastin for this use was E4599 (not E4559).
