Lung Cancer Alliance Joins National Public Health Organizations Urging HHS to Require Cessation Programs as a Covered Benefit within State Health Care Exchanges
Washington, DC [January 31, 2012]—Lung Cancer Alliance (LCA) joined with national public health policy organizations in urging the Secretary of Health and Human Services to make tobacco cessation programs a required benefit covered in all state insurance plans when health care reform goes into full effect the end of next year.
Co-signers with LCA included the American Legacy Foundation, whose president and CEO Cheryl Healton PhD is a member of the LCA Board of Directors, the American Academy of Family Physicians and Oncology Nursing Society.
