Carmine Demes passed away November 16, 2003.

A loving husband and father, Carmine Demes passed away at the age of 83, due to lung cancer which had metastasized to his brain. Throughout his illness he fought bravely, kept a positive attitude, and endured all his treatments without complaint.  Until the end his main concern was for the welfare of his family.

Before he lost his battle with cancer, my parents marked their 60 years of marriage-an inspiration to all who knew them.  My father was not only a gentle man, but a gentleman to all who knew him.  He always had a kind word for others and would be there to lend a helping hand.

A decorated veteran of World War II, he never bragged but liked to tell stories of his wartime exploits.  Most of all he was a hero to his family by the way he lived his life every day.

Dad, we love you-thanks for being you.  We miss you so much, but know that you are in our hearts every day.

-Your daughter Toni
